Teaching Philosophy and ideals

Beginning with why I want to go into the Art education field. I come from a school that specializes in special areas such as art, science and others. I saw the dedication my own teachers put into their job and how much fun and love they put into their job. Art itself is also a way to express your thoughts and feelings and also social justice issues going into the topic of why kids need art education. I feel that students need art education to see the world in a way that is so black and white. Art education allowed me to see the world in many different lights, it allowed me to see the world for the place it is but also seeing the good art allows me to drown out the negativity in the world. I can see things and get creative thoughts or ideas. The world is a scary place and can be stressful but the many things I learned from the long art education path I took in my final years of high school. Whenever I do enter the teaching part of my life I want my students to learn about the broad landscape of art and what it has to offer to life, along with allowing them to explore their creative parts of themselves. And again art can express many things so allowing my students to express their thoughts in art in art assignments. I want my students to feel and see a space that allows them to express themselves and be free. I hope to teach all the basic fundamentals of art and of course the necessary for creating art, but I also hope to teach upcoming artists how to look at art and connect the world to art in ways they can create, emotion and all. I see myself more as a chill relaxed person. I don't really like the idea of standing at a podium or smartboard and rambling. I feel there are more engaging ways to teach or introduce subjects or assignments. So giving my students a stress free environment and introducing them to a chill but still stern relationship with the instructor which would be me seems like a good way to engage. I want my students to feel comfortable with asking questions, so a down to earth environment.
